The Word Is A Light Unto Our Path!
WELCOME To This Special Site! The Word (Scriptures, Bible) is so very important!  Without God's Word we are like a ship without a rudder, a traveler without a map!
TESTIMONIES OF THE LORD
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.  Psalm 119:111, KJV, Bible
Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.  Psalm 119:24, KJV, Bible
Thy testimonies are very sure....  Psalm 93:5, KJV, Bible
I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.  Psalm 119:46, KJV, Bible
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.  Psalm 119:2, KJV, Bible
THE LOST SHEEP
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.  Luke 15:4-7, KJV, Bible

Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost! It is not His will that any should perish! Come to Him today if you have gone astray or if you have never known Him. He will welcome you with open arms because He loves and cares for you. Jesus will be your best friend and Good Shepherd!
DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD!
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4, KJV, Bible

The word "delight" means "to give great pleasure or enjoyment to". ( The Random House Dictionary)
According to this, people should take great pleasure and enjoyment in serving the LORD! Our service should not be that of just "duty" or "responsibility", but of love and intense devotion to the LORD! We should be willing to do whatever is pleasing to Him.

This includes delighting ourselves in His "Word" ( Holy Bible). His "Word" is His will. If we take great pleasure in doing His will, He shall then give us the very desires (secret petitions)  of our heart. The LORD can do this because our desires will not be selfish, but will bring glory and honor to Him. Our secret petitions will also be to bless and edify others. The LORD will then delight in giving us the desires of our heart!

Another thought concerning this verse could be thus: if we delight ourself in the LORD, He shall give to us (actually put or place) the desires, or secret petitions, in our heart that He would be willing to grant! The apostle, John the beloved, wrote: " And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." 1 John 5:14-15, KJV, Bible
PROMISES TO THOSE WHO TRUST GOD AND DO GOOD!
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Psalm 37:3, KJV, Bible

The word "trust" means to place hope and confidence
in, depend on. Truly, we can put our "trust" in the Lord (literally, Jehovah)! He will be our refuge, our strength, our present help in time of need. We can certainly lean on and rely on "His faithfulness". He will keep and provide for those who put their trust in Him.

This trust is evident by their doing "good". Although there is only One who is "Good" (God), if we truly believe in (on) Him, good works will follow. The "works" cannot "save" or "redeem" us, but will exemplify our "new life" in the Lord.

Along with trusting and doing good comes the promises of dwelling in the land and being fed. What wonderful thoughts! Jehovah (The LORD God) will let us live in a place where He will provide for us. If we feed on His "truth", we will receive everything we have need of. If we put Him first and seek "His righteousness" through our Lord and Savior, Jesus (the Christ); He will take care of us! For this we give Him praise!

Timely Words From The Apostle Peter
(One of the twelve disciples of Christ)
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.   (2 Peter 3:1-18, KJV, Bible)
