PROSE AND PRYOETRY |
A WHOLE LOT OF SHAKING! |
No, this is not an accolade to a rock and roll song! It is a paraphrase of what the
Bible says will be taking place in the last days before Jesus rules on this
earth. "...the heavens and the earth shall shake..." Joel 3:16b* "Which [Who] shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble." Job 9:6 "And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth." Isaiah 2:17-19 "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." "Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger." Isaiah 13:11,13 "For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations ..." Haggai 2:6-7a "...the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake. The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard..." Isaiah 24:18c-20a "Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven." Hebrews 12:26 These several verses of scripture plainly reveal that there will be a lot of shaking taking place in the future -- probably the near future! And the shaking will not be people dancing, but the doings of Almighty God! We need to serve Him with reverance and godly fear (respect). No matter how things look, the LORD is still in control and His WORD will come to pass. In the book of Revelation it prophecies: "...there was a great earthquake..." "And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." Rev.6:12a,14 "...there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great." "And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found." Rev.16:18b,20 I certainly do not want to be on this earth when all of the shaking is going on! We who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture feel we will not be, if we are prepared to meet Christ when He appears to catch away His bride (the church) in the air. Only those who are looking for Jesus will see Him at that time. Hebrews 9:28 Later, after the shaking and other great tribulation events, Jesus will return with His saints (not to be confused with angels) to this earth to reign for a thousand years. Jude 14-15; Rev.20:6 At that part of His second coming, every eye shall see Him! Rev.1:7 "Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." Psalm 46:2-3 Praise God for His delivering and keeping power through Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior! |

LIFE |
At the base of the dam there formed a break
Soon to enlarge the structure to shake
What a frightening sight--oh such power and might
A
torrent
of
water came pouring
through, murky brown, not pretty blue
What destruction
it caused as with powerful jaws
Off
went
debris
in
every way, oh what mayhem occurred that day
The
gigantic rift sent everything
adrift
Swirling
and
churning
the
waters
roared, overturning boats and all aboard
A terrible site to
personally behold, a loss of lives both young and old
The
tragic scene seems cruel and mean, but life's not always a beautiful
dream We must take the hard knocks along with the pleasure,
Knowing
that
someone
loves us beyond measure
So
live
your
life
with faith and joy; think not it's just an evil
ploy
Anyway,
soon, your life may be over
And you can be knee-deep in Heaven's clover
Looking
upon
the
Savior's
face, if you've received His
amazing grace
Jesus, I thank you for what you
have done
And I know you'll be waiting when my life here is done |

Prose And Pryoetry |
I WOULDN'T TRADE WHAT I HAVE FOR WHAT I HAD |
I wouldn't trade what I have for what I had
I
wouldn't
trade
the
good for the bad
In
the
past
I've
had
heartaches that left me so sad
So
I
wouldn't
trade what I have for what I had
I've
had
my
share
of troubles and woe
There's
now
many
places
I
don't want to go
And
there
is
no
need to dwell in the past
Only
what's
done
for
Jesus will last
So
I'll
look
to
the
future with a heart that's so glad
And
I
wouldn't
trade
what I have for what I had
I
wouldn't
trade
what I have for
the world
With
all
of
it's
glamour and pleasures unfurled
It's
tried
to
allure
me since I was a lad
But
I
wouldn't
trade
what I have for what
I had
I
now
have
Jesus to guide me along
He's
put
in
my
heart
a brand new song
I'm
oh
so
happy
while
many are mad
I
wouldn't
trade
what
I have for what
I had |

FORGIVEN |
He came to die
I
came
to live
I
came
to
take
He
came
to
give
I
was
born
dead in sin
Jesus
was
born all Life within
Now I am
free through faith in Him
And all that He did to forgive my sins
Now I can live in peace
with joy
No more guilts that constantly annoy
Now I am free to
go to Heaven
Forgiven of sins -- seventy times
seven! |
MY EARLY YEARS |
My story started long ago
When
in
my
lungs life's breath did flow
I
was told
I was swatted in a certain place
I
was also told it was not my face
Anyway,
it
did the job
For
I
began
to
breathe and sob
But
soon
my tears were wiped
away
I'd
entered into a brand new day
Life's
road
has been
rough in certain places
But I've also experienced special
graces
I've always
had a roof above
And
known
a family's precious love
No
matter
which course my life has taken
I
never have
once been completely forsaken
In my youth I had
ups and downs
And
weighed
less than a hundred pounds
But
I had energy to run and play
And
that
I did about every day
I
liked
to
hunt and fish and swim
I'm
sure
that helped to keep me slim
I
played
baseball on a little league team
But
to
play professionally was only a dream
I
was a pitcher and could throw a curve
But
the Lord called me, Himself to serve
So
I
couldn't just go my way
I
wanted
to
serve Him everyday
When
I
was nineteen God called me to preach
There
were many lost souls that needed to be reached I accepted the call to follow
the Lord
To
reject and rebel I couldn't
afford
And
to live for Him was all He asked
That
seemed
to be a reasonable task
Especially
when Jesus died for
me
Yes,
shed His blood to set me free
I
couldn't
say "no" to that kind
of love
Which
could only come from Heaven above |
WRITERS |
What do writers do -- they write
When
do
they
write
-- day and night
Where
do
they
write
-- almost
any site
How
do
they
write -- some by hand, others
type
Why
do
they write -- some for construction, others for destruction,
Some out of
love, others out of spite Most, because it's their delight |
WHEN THOUGHTS FLOW |
When thoughts flow -- speakers speak
When
thoughts
flow
-- writers write
When
thoughts
flow
-- editors edit
When
thoughts
flow
--
publishers publish
These
things
happen,
I know -- when thoughts flow
Some
flow like a river, others
like a brook
Some
become
a poem, others become a book |
THE MASTER'S ROLL |
On a misty morning there came a chill But a little bird sang at will He flopped his tiny wings to fly But the little bird was soon to die Someone had shot it for a sport Oh, what a sad thing to report It tried so hard but couldn't fly A boy had left it there to die But soon its struggle was all over It breathed its last there in some clover Human life is also uncertain Many with death they keep flirtin' But someday it will come for certain Yes, one day death will take its toll Is your name on the Master's roll? |
